Margaret River, Western Australia   |    750ml   |    14%
This 2018 Xanadu DJL Cabernet Sauvignon again delivers an impressive, medium-bodied rendition of Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon, following the hugely popular 2017 vintage of this wine. Offering plenty of blackberry, dark chocolate and cassis flavours, this is a beautifully balanced wine with plenty of poise and class, this again offers exceptional value drinking.

Reviews of the 2017 vintage included below;

"93 Points. Predominantly cabernet sauvignon, 14% of the blend comprised of malbec and petit verdot, 14 months in French barriques. A melange of red and black fruit on the bouquet and palate, with each variety seemingly contributing, layers of mulberry leaf, spicy oak and chocolate also in the equation. Structured to cellar well but certainly enjoyable as it is. $24. 14.5% alc. Drink by: 2027"- Steve Creber, winecompanion.com.au.

"92 Points. 87% Margaret River cabernet sauvignon, 4% petit verdot, 9% malbec, 25% new oak. Ripe and convincing. Violets, blackcurrant, smoked cedarwood and bay leaves. In the groove, in the zone. Nice lick of tannin, pretty good depth of fruit, and a sound, sure-footed finish. Very good value. 14.5% alc. $25 Screwcap Drink: 2019 - 2026+" - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

COLOUR: Deep red with purple hues.

NOSE: Inky forest fruits, blackcurrants and plums are complimented by subtle mocha oak characters spiced with hints of dried herb and graphite.

PALATE: medium to full-bodied Cabernet with plenty of depth offering blackberries, dark chocolate and cassis. The generous pristine fruit and fine ripe tannins combine to produce a very complete wine, distinctly Cabernet with an elegant structure and a wonderful persistence of fruit.
