Tellurian Wines, Heathcote

Tellurian Wines vineyard is located on the western slopes of Mt Camel Range, overlooking the township of Toolleen. The original Tellurian vineyard was planted in 2003 with 5.6 ha of  shiraz vines, with a further 3.6 ha of Shiraz planted in 2006. The ancient 500 million year old Cambrian soils of the Heathcote region combined with viticultural practices that focus on optimising fruit quality from each vine, provide the base building blocks for Tellurian wines.

The team at Tellurian headed by the highly acclaimed winemaker, Tobias Ansted, produce some of the region's finest examples of Shiraz. Tellurian's Heathcote Pastiche Shiraz is produced from grapes sourced from the Touhey family vineyard that are blended with Tellurian's own estate vineyard.

Tellurian's flagship 'Tranter' Heathcote Shiraz is produced solely from fruit from their own vineyard on Tranter Road, Toolleen, on the western side of the Mt Camel range. The vineyard is planted on the deep, rich, Cambrian soil for which the region is renowned, and we believe this is a major contributor to the flavour intensity and richness of the wine.

Over the past couple of year's Tellurian's wines have received wide-spread acclaim, firmly establishing themselves as a rising star of the Heathcote wine region.
