Port Phillip Estate

Port Phillip Estate was established in 1987 on a property of sixty acres in Red Hill in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula. The maritime climate and southerly latitude of the Mornington Peninsula combined with the estate's deep red loam soils are considered ideal for cool climate viticulture. The landmark building opened in November 2009 as the new home of Kooyong and Port Phillip Estate wines. Many of the design initiatives salute sustainability.

Located in Red Hill, the ten hectare site is planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc, all on northerly and easterly-facing slopes.

The viticulture team at Port Phillip Estate endeavour to grow the highest quality fruit that freely expresses the terroir of each vineyard. The vineyard philosophy is to develop a soil and vineyard biota that produces a balanced vine living sustainably in its environment.

The winemaking philosophy is to best preserve the inherent characteristics present in the fruit while making wines of elegance, finesse, texture, complexity and structure. Today Port Phillip Estate has a reputation as one of the leading wineries of the Mornington Peninsula, consistently producing stunning examples of Pinot Noir, Rose, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and cool-climate Shiraz.
