Granite Hills Wines

The family-owned Granite Hill vineyard and winery is found atop the spectacular boulder strewn hills of the Great Dividing Range at an altitude 550 meters. The view over Granite Hills vineyard and of central Victoria beyond, immediately gives you the impression of something quite special.

Trail blazers of viticulture and winemaking in what is statistically Australia’s coolest wine region, Granite Hills has celebrated success way beyond its size, winning more than 500 awards in Australian and International competitions.

Essentially cool due to an altitude of 550 metres, but with a warm and dry influence from Central Victoria, this is home to one of Australia’s benchmark Rieslings, along with some spectacular red wines; their Shiraz and 'The Gordon' Cabernet always among the standouts.

Since the first plantings in 1970 by Heather and Gordon Knight, Granite Hills has forged an enviable reputation with more than 400 awards from local and international shows. These days the vineyard and winery are run by the Knights’ son Llew and his wife Andrea; Llew has been making the wines at Granite Hills since the first vintage in 1976.
