Sourced entirely from Estate-grown vineyards, the idea here is to craft a more fruit-driven, early drinking companion to the Voyager Estate Chardonnay. Voyager Estate is located in the premium wine producing region of Margaret River, Western Australia. Latest statistics show that, although only producing 4% of Australia's wine by volume, Margaret River wines account for 23% of the country's premium wine production. Voyager Estate is proud to be among the select wineries that contribute to this production.

Voyager's oldest vines date back to 1978, just over 10 years after vines were first planted in the area. When current owner, Michael Wright, took over the property in 1991, he set out to expand it and develop a visitor destination that would be a showcase for the region. He also set out to ensure that, above all else, the quality of wine being made at Voyager Estate would always be the best that nature, expertise and pure hard work could provide.

Vintage: A classic growing season with excellent budburst leading to beautifully warm weather through flowering and fruit set. A mild summer, with just a few hot December days and a cool, overcast February, enabled fruit to ripen slowly, accumulating intense varietal flavours whilst retaining fresh natural acidity. All whites were harvested in excellent condition.

Six blocks make up this blend, the core being from grapefruit intense Gingin clone. Fruit was pressed, settled overnight then fermented in stainless steel or French oak prior to 9 months maturation in oak barrels with monthly stirring. Parcels were then blended and remained on light lees until fining, filtration and bottling in January 2019.

The wine was crafted with Estate grown grapes to create a fruit-driven, early drinking style of Chardonnay, which reflects the purity of fruit from our pristine coastal vineyards. The restrained use of French oak and wild yeast fermentation adds subtle complexity and texture to the palate, which finishes with a clean mineral edge.- Voyager Estate Wines
