Margaret River's Voyager Estate has firmly established itself as one of Australia's leading exponents of Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2013 Voyager Estate Cabernet Merlot will only strengthen Voyager Estate's reputation as a Margaret River Cabernet producers of the highest quality. Offering lovely lifted briary aromas with hints of spice, dark chocolate and black berry fruits. The palate displays sweet dark berry fruit with earthy gravelly notes. Hints of cedar and bayleaf add a nice savoury element to the wine. The wine is rich and complex with great length and balance supported by fine grained tannins and seamlessly integrated French oak.

"Voyager Estate put on a benchmark tasting every year, and I think it’s been maybe five or so years now?, and every year it’s a great event. A blind tasting where they don’t stack the deck, and throw big names like Sassicaia, Spottswoode, Chateau Leoville-Las-Cases etc. into the ring with their own wines. It shows a wonderful mix of bravado and humility, and the willingness to learn, improve, and refine. Cherry, tobacco, dark chocolate and bay leaf, with a dusting of spiced vanilla oak. Medium bodied, good fleshy fruit and mouth-perfume, a little beef and malt, fine grained tannin and a crunch of fresh acidity, with a fair volume of fragrant fruit and spice to close. Very stylish. Rated: 93 Points Tasted: Aug17 Alcohol: 14% Price: $75 Closure: Screwcap Drink: 2019 - 2028" - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.

He also set out to ensure that, above all else, the quality of wine being made at Voyager Estate would always be the best that nature, expertise and pure hard work could provide.
