Turkey Flat Rose 2017

Turkey Flat Rose 2017

Barossa Valley, South Australia   |    750ml   |    13%

"all-round delicious drinking" - Tony Love

Turkey Flat has been one of the drivers of the great Rosé revival and this is undoubtedly one of the most popular Rosé's produced in Australia each year. The 2017 Turkey Flat Rosé is the 24th vintage made by the team at Turkey Flat; another benchmark example that will deliver plenty of enjoyment over coming months.

"Always a consistent pleasure, this grenache rosé offers immediate attraction. This year the usual list of minor varieties like cabernet, mataro, shiraz and marsanne aren't listed, to highlight its grenache core. A pale pink shine, its granmotherly handbag of musk, and herbal/floral fragrances and, more importantly, its proper mouthfeel of strawberry pith and texture with apple and strawberry juiciness, is all about that grenache in a youthful rosé dress. Its tempered spice and all-round delicious drinking is bang on for a new season." - Tony Love, The Advertiser, September 6 2017.

"More elegant than ever, Turkey Flat’s largest and most famous child is prettier and paler than before, lacking nothing in exuberance of strawberry and raspberry fruit, culminating in a lick of succulent sweetness that won’t mind a decent chill. 90 Points // $21" - Tyson Stelzer, www.barossamag.com.

"Reliably good year after year, this is, quite simply, one of the best dry savoury rosés to be found in Australia. Made from 100% grenache fruit grown in the Barossa Valley, this has for several years been one of the style leaders as rosé transitioned from curiosity to mainstream. The back label tells the story: "Simply a light, crisp and beautifully aromatic wine that is best served chilled." Match it will anything from seared tuna to a Lebanese mezze platter." - Winsor Dobbin, http://www.winsordobbin.com.au.

Turkey Flat owns five vineyards spread over a radius of 20km from Bethany in the south, Ebenezer in the north, Stonewell in the west, with other vineyards in the east. They cover four very different sub-regions and give them the ability to blend the attributes of each subregion into their wines.

Turkey Flat firmly believe winemaking begins in the vineyard, as a result they spend a great deal of time managing vine vigour, controlling shoot growth as well as shoot and bunch thinning. This helps to reduce yields and open up the vines to let in the sunlight.

Turkey Flat are not industrial winemakers and try at all times to keep the winemaking process simple and traditional, to not interfere with the true expression of the vineyard.

Barossa Valley
The Barossa Valley has the perfect climate and ideal grape varieties to produce Rosé. It is a wine style that should be enjoyed fresh and chilled.

Having been amongst the first to lead the great Rosé revival, it has been interesting to watch the popularity of this wine style grow.

Bucking the notion that Rosé is an afterthought, our 'Prince of Pink' has a special place in our hearts & is crafted with a clear purpose. We create the lifted palate of bright, primary fruits by placing rosey-cheeked Grenache in its starring role. The considered additions of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon & Mataro add tannin and intriguing elements of spice & herbaceousness that have come to be this wine's hallmark.

Sourced from specific sites achieving perfect yields promoting prominent primary fruit while retaining appealing palate cleansing crispness.

Enjoy with: Friends, under a tree on a hot, summer's day. Not summer? Just turn up the heat & serve with Asian or Spanish inspired spicy or seafood dishes. Best served chilled.- Turkey Flat Wines.
