Turkey Flat Rose 2018

Barossa Valley, South Australia   |    750ml   |    13%

Turkey Flat has been one of the drivers of the great Rosé revival and this is undoubtedly one of the most popular Rosé's produced in Australia each year. The 2018 Turkey Flat Rosé is the 25th vintage made by the team at Turkey Flat; another benchmark example that will deliver plenty of enjoyment to the many fans of this wine.

"96 Points. Pale pink; super-fragrant and deliciously vinous, with rose petal and spice aromas followed by juicy strawberry fruit flavours that linger long after the wine has been swallowed. Bred in the purple; you'd think grenache is part of the magic. 13% alc. $21. Drink by 2022" - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion 2020.

Turkey Flat is always remarkably quick to market with its famous Rose. This release is still settling into itself but it’s also clearly very good. It walks a great line. Dry and savoury in part, bright and fruity in other. It’s copper-crimson in colour, is slashed with raspberried fruit flavour and also carries dry spice, orange jelly and herb notes. It’s absolutely spot on delicious drinking. Rated: 93 Points Tasted: Sep18 Alcohol: 13% Price: $21 Closure: Screwcap Drink: 2018 - 2020" - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

Turkey Flat owns five vineyards spread over a radius of 20km from Bethany in the south, Ebenezer in the north, Stonewell in the west, with other vineyards in the east. They cover four very different sub-regions and give them the ability to blend the attributes of each subregion into their wines.

Turkey Flat firmly believe winemaking begins in the vineyard, as a result they spend a great deal of time managing vine vigour, controlling shoot growth as well as shoot and bunch thinning. This helps to reduce yields and open up the vines to let in the sunlight.

Turkey Flat are not industrial winemakers and try at all times to keep the winemaking process simple and traditional, to not interfere with the true expression of the vineyard.
South Australia
Barossa Valley
The Barossa Valley has the perfect climate and ideal grape varieties to produce Rosé. It is a wine style that should be enjoyed fresh and chilled.

Having been amongst the first to lead the great Rosé revival, it has been interesting to watch the popularity of this wine style grow.

Bucking the notion that Rosé is an afterthought, our 'Prince of Pink' has a special place in our hearts & is crafted with a clear purpose. We create the lifted palate of bright, primary fruits by placing rosey-cheeked Grenache in its starring role. The considered additions of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon & Mataro add tannin and intriguing elements of spice & herbaceousness that have come to be this wine's hallmark.

Sourced from specific sites achieving perfect yields promoting prominent primary fruit while retaining appealing palate cleansing crispness.

Enjoy with: Friends, under a tree on a hot, summer's day. Not summer? Just turn up the heat & serve with Asian or Spanish inspired spicy or seafood dishes. Best served chilled.- Turkey Flat Wines.
