Martin Shaw, Michael Hill Smith MW and Matthew Hill Smith purchased the vineyard in 2011 with a vision of making Tolpuddle one of Australia's great single vineyards. The vineyard is planted with mature vines, the cool and dry climate ideal conditions for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of exceptional quality.
Today Tolpuddle are producing some of Australia's leading examples of these Burgundian varieties. Made in very small quantities, the Tolpuddle Pinot Noir and Tolpuddle Chardonnay are highly sought after by lovers of premium Australian wine.
PALATE: Fine and precise with firm acidity, and a combination of lightness of texture and intensity of flavour. The 2018 vintage has the natural acidity you would expect but is approachable, with flavour in the lemon citrus, lemon soda, lemon pith, spectrum.
