Located on the western slopes of Mt Camel Range, Tellurian is one of the rising stars of the Heathcote wine region, producing an impressive range of Shiraz along with some impressive red and white wines influenced by France's Rhone Valley. The team at Tellurian recognise Grenache is capable of thriving on Heathcote’s ancient red soils with warm days developing expressive flavours, cool nights retaining soft, elegant texture.

This 2018 Tellurian GSM is another high quality example of Heathcote red; offering lifted aromas of raspberry, cherry, plum and wild strawberry combine with subtle savoury, earthy notes. Medium bodied palate highlighted by vibrant red fruits, elegant texture and mouthfeel, with soft, plush tannins and well balanced acidity providing a moreish finish.

"Heathcote blend of grenache (46%), shiraz (36%) and Mourvedre. It’s a ripe, mid-weight, warm-hearted red with fruit in all the right places and spice as a complement. It doesn’t put any steps wrong. It’s textural without being syrupy and the oak is pitched at low levels. There’s a peppercorn/graphite character too which works well in context. Earth, redcurrant and florals. A handy spread of unobtrusive tannin. Not bad at all. 91-92. 91 Points Tasted: Nov19 14.5% alc. $28 Screwcap Drink: 2020 - 2026+" - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

Heathcote’s warm days, cool nights and ancient Cambrian soils bring out the best in these varieties, the backbone of the Rhone Valley reds. Medium-bodied , Tellurian GSM balances the softness and elegance of grenache with structure and savoury characters of shiraz and mourvèdre.

VINEYARD: All fruit sourced from our Tellurian vineyard growing in Cambrian soils formed over 500 million years. Deep, rich, decomposed greenstone rock and limestone with soil depths up to 2m allow roots to reach deep, while relatively low fertility controls vigour and yield.

WINEMAKING: Grapes harvested separately at ripeness, each parcel fermented in small open top fermenters. Shiraz fermented on skins for 11 days, grenache 12-16 days, and mourvèdre 9 days. All ferments hand plunged or pumped over up to twice a day. 10 months maturation in seasoned French oak barriques prior to filtration.

WINEMAKER NOTES: Light plum-red in colour. Lifted aromas of raspberry, cherry, plum and wild strawberry combine with subtle savoury, earthy notes. Medium bodied palate highlighted by vibrant red fruits, elegant texture and mouthfeel, with soft, plush tannins and well balanced acidity providing a moreish finish.
