Stella Bella Sauvignon Blanc

Stella Bella Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Margaret River, Western Australia   |    750ml   |    13%

96 Points | Top 100 2016 - James Halliday

Over the past decade Stella Bella has established itself as one of the shining lights of Margaret River wine, always delivering top-line examples of Margaret River's signature varieties.

The 2016 vintage in the cooler maritime climate of the southern reaches of Margaret River region delivered high natural acidity levels perfect for making fresh, zesty and varietally pure Sauvignon Blanc. This 2016 Stella Bella Sauvignon Blanc is an example of the highest quality; fresh, balanced and beautifully structured, there's an abundance of tropical fruit flavours, minerality and a crisp, dry finish.

"96 Points. In distinctive Stella Bella fashion, the wine is loaded with tropical fruits fit for an Arabian feast, starting with passionfruit, gooseberry, continuing with green pineapple, finishing with punchy citrussy acidity that intensifies and prolongs the impact of a real wine. Stella Bella Wines is a small, privately owned wine company, located in the Margaret River region of Western Australia South West Coast that makes wines under the quixotic names of Stella Bella, Suckfizzle and Skuttlebutt.

While the brands are differentiated by sub-regions, vineyards, style, price and curious names, the objective is always to create wines of expression, personality and interest with an emphasis on unique imaging.

The Stella Bella Cellar Door is situated 2kms on Rosabrook road, from the Bussell Hwy turnoff (only five minutes from the town centre of Margaret River).

Appearance: Pale straw in colour, bright with a green hue.

Aroma: This is a punchy combination of floral aromatics with passionfruit nectar, guava and crushed lime. Classic aromatics are supported by flinty scents from the barrel ferment and a subtle musk.

Palate: The 2016 vintage bought beautiful natural acidity levels which maintained the fresh, zesty palate, requiring no acid adjustments. In the mouth this wine dances on your palate, fresh and tight. The acid is in perfect balance with the fruit, supporting the flavours and delivering it across the palate, passionfruit and minerality carrying through.

Blend: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
