Robert Oatley Signature Riesling

Robert Oatley Great Southern Riesling 2019

Margaret River, Western Australia   |    750ml   |    12%
The Robert Oatley Signature Series draws on a remarkable portfolio of vineyards nurtured by the winemaking talent of Larry Cherubino showcasing Australia’s most successful wine styles and regions.

The 2019 Robert Oatley Signature Great Southern Riesling is made from a number of selected vineyard parcels from the expansive Great Southern region; most notably Frankland River and Mount Barker. Reflecting another outstanding vintage this is a vibrant, softly textured wine with plenty of lemon-lime fruit flavours with a fine line of acidity.

"The wine that picked up a swag of trophies including Best White Wine of Show and the JS Gladstones Trophy for the wine with the Best and Most Distinctive Regional Character was the 2019 Robert Oatley Signature Series Great Southern Riesling and it is a cracker. Packed full of grapefruit and citrus zest, slatey acidity and an enviable inherent drinkability. Amazing value and utterly delicious." - Dave Brookes, The Adelaide Review.

REGION NOTES: GREAT SOUTHERN WESTERN AUSTRALIA: Recognised by many as Australia’s newest high-quality Riesling region, the Great Southern encompasses a spectrum of sub-districts that are delivering remarkably delicious and often age-worthy wines of tremendous success.

WINEMAKING NOTES: We selected a number of individual parcels of free-run juice from Frankland River and Mount Barker, fermented them with neutral yeast to retain the inherent fruit characters, and used minimal additions to produce a varietally pure, excellent early to mid-term drinking wine. Enjoy now to 2030.

TASTING NOTE: Reflecting another outstanding vintage in Western Australia’s leading Riesling region, this is a softly textured, crisp, dry, lemon-lime fruited wine with a fine line of acidity.
