Paxton Jones Block Shiraz 2016

Paxton Jones Block Shiraz 2016

McLaren Vale, South Australia   |    750ml   |    13.5%

Paxton's McLaren Vale vineyards are managed using biodynamic farming principles; farming without the use of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides with a focus on promoting healthy, living soils through natural compost preparations.

This 2016 Paxton Jones Block Shiraz is McLaren Vale Shiraz at its finest; from the acclaimed ‘Jones Block’, this wine is well regarded for its generous, yet elegant style. A small parcel was selected from Paxton's century old vines for complex fruit flavours and seamless structure. Grapes are hand pruned; wine is aged in fine grained French and American oak. As always, no corners cut. A rich, savoury and spicy blend, this wine has a fleshy middle palate and great length.

"96 Points. Hand-picked, matured in French and American barriques (40% new) for 22 months. Vivid, deep crimson-purple hue; this is an unabashed powerhouse, dripping with black fruits, dark chocolate, licorice and earthy tannins to hold the fruit in place. Given its screwcap, its life span will challenge that of most who drink it. $45.00 Date when Tasted 10 Sep 2018 14.5% alc Drink By: 2050 Screwcap" - James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au.
