Tim Adams' 'Mr Mick' range is named in honour of K.H Knappstein; a legend of Australian wine and a former mentor of Tim Adams. A gold medal recipient at the 2018 Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show, the 2018 Mr Mick Rose is made in the 'Tuscan-style' using a blend of Sangiovese and Tempranillo grapes. A quality example of the modern style of Australian Rosé, this is bursting with raspberry, strawberry flavours with a hint of tropical lychee and white peach notes. Finishing clean and dry, this is a style with a subtle complexity and is sure to have enormous appeal at this great price.

"The Mr. Mick rosé is made by Tim Adams in the Clare Valley and from the unlikely combination of sangiovese, tempranillo and mourvèdre. In the glass, it has a pink/purple hue, fresh acidity and is very fruity and finishes dry. Overall, this is a pleasant rosé that is low in alcohol and keenly priced. 'Mr Mick' is a new range of wines launched by Tim Adams; one of Australia's most talented winemakers. The range is named in honour of K.H Knappstein; a legend of Australian wine and a former mentor of Tim Adams.

Mr Mick would have been extremely proud of this wine. Mirroring the central areas of Spain, which Tempranillo calls home, the warm dry growing conditions of the Clare Valley is the ideal climate to make this variety shine. Take it from us when we say this wine will go well with just about any food! Mr Mick enjoyed making wines for everyone to enjoy and this is just another one to add to the range!

Description: Mr Mick’s passion for Rosé dated back to the late 1960’s when his nephew had just qualified from University at Roseworthy. Keen to impress his uncle, he produced the first Rosé under Mr Mick’s watchful eye. Today, Mr Mick Rosé revives his intent for the wine in a way no other Australian Rose seems to do – ideal to serve with food but also great as an aperitif. This is an alluring wine with subtle complexity of strawberry, hints of lychee and white peach. Soft fruit lingers before a cleansing, dry finish.

Winemaking Notes: Sangiovese, Tempraillo and Mataro fruit was crushed, chilled and held cold soaking separately for 12 hours in the press in order to extract vibrant colour and red berry flavours from the skins. The juices were cold settled and fermented separately prior to careful blending, stabilisation, clarification and bottling in May 2018. Slight residual sweetness remains in order to enhance the natural fruit characters.

Food Pairing: This wine is a great match with all Asian cuisine, or with any food which has a little warmth. It’s also great on its own for all occasions.
