Set against the dramatic backdrop of two mountain ranges, the vineyard property of Mount Langi Ghiran (Aboriginal for ‘home of the yellow-tailed black cockatoo’) combines state of the art technology with traditional winemaking methods. The governing principle at Mount Langi Ghiran is to preserve the vineyard’s longstanding dedicated commitment to quality by ensuring that cropping yields are kept low and that wines are produced using traditional winemaking practices with minimal intervention.
"The Cliff Edge Shiraz is 100% estate grown, showcasing the Shiraz vine’s affinity for the granite slopes of Mount Langi Ghiran. The 2014 vintage provided good conditions for grape growing, with a dry and reasonably warm season. Due to a cold snap in spring the crops were low yielding resulting in high quality fruit with intense flavours and complexity. Small batches and an array of winemaking techniques, including a portion of whole bunch fermentation, accentuate the subtle nuances of florals and spice found throughout the vineyard, creating a wine with individuality." - Mount Langi Ghiran.
