"The LV Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced entirely from Longview’s vineyard at Macclesfield, Adelaide Hills. The Shiraz component is sourced from block SH13, SH2 and SH6 and the Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from block CS1. The fruit was harvested in cool conditions, crushed and fermented for 14 days on skins, then gently pressed and matured for 12 months in new and old French, as well as old American oak hogsheads. This 2016 blend exudes vibrant
blueberry fruit characteristics with underlying mint and dark chocolate on the palate. It is flavoursome, rich and balanced with integrated oak and a long-structured finish. Reviews of the 2015 vintage included below;

"The cool Adelaide Hill is possibly not the first regions that springs to mind when you think of the classic Aussie full-bodied red blend of Shiraz and cabernet sauvignon. But this wine, from a ripe vintage and from one of the warmer vineyard sites at the southern end of the Hills, is a cracking example of the style: bold dark fruit wrapped in firm sturdy tannins. Very good value at this price, too, especially as it should age well in the cellar for a few more years yet" - Max Allen, Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine, Oct/ Nov 2018.

"Bountiful aromas of bluestone, plum, chocolate, cedar, eucalypt, pepper and blackberry. Palate with the yin/yang pairing of sweeter shiraz rounding out the cabernet ‘gaps.’ Eucalypt and mint highlights under rich liqueur cassis, chocolate and spicy plummy shiraz. It’s bold and forthright, even a touch brash but quality fruit shines through. RRP: $22 Alc: 14% Rating: 17/20" - Regan Drew, vinonotebook.com

The season started with good soil moisture enabling early spring growth, followed by ideal flowering conditions in November. The hot weather through December and January helped control the growth and wet weather in February, freshened the canopies to ensuring even ripening. The ripening period from veraison was ideal, with exceptional acid retention and cool climate flavour development.
