Lake Breeze is one of Australia's most awarded boutique wineries, including being named Australia's Champion Small Winery. The Follett family have been grape growers in Langhorne Creek for over 120 years and winemakers for 24 years and have rapidly built an enviable reputation for consistently producing outstanding wines.
The Follett family vineyard was established in the 1880's by Arthur John Follett, the great grandfather of Greg Follett, the winemaker. The varieties grown on the vineyard include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Chardonnay, with small blocks of Grenache, Merlot, Petit Verdot and White Frontignac.
A ripe, full bodied wine which has benefited from 15 months oak maturation. It shows an aroma reminiscent of plums and chocolate with a touch of earthy complexity.
The palate is rich and full of black-fruits and has a long soft finish.
A wine which could partner a cheese plate equally as well as a rare fillet steak. It is drinking well now but will age gracefully for the remainder of the decade.
