Review of the 2015 vintage included below;

"From the Abercrombie Vineyard in Mount Barker, hand-picked and sorted, fermented in stainless steel, selected parcels remaining on skins after fermentation, each batch matured separately in French barriques (40% new) for 18 months. Given the virtually identical vinification of this and its Leston sibling, the differences are due to the site climates through the growing season. Halliday Rating: 93/100 Price when Tasted: $46.00 Date when Tasted: 04 Oct 2017 Alcohol: 14.5 % Drink By: 2025 Closure: Screwcap" - James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au.

In the cooler, continental climate of the Mount Baker region, our north facing, elevated sites, capture ample sun to fully ripen Cabernet. The fruit notes, reminiscent of a briary hedgerow, are ever so slightly untamed. Fragrant sweet spice, cocoa and creamy oak give a coddling warmth and dimension to this wild fruit character. More fine than full-bodied, the palate’s soft, plush red fruits give richness of flavour while the fine tannins build length and structure. The 2016 Howard Park Cabernets are defined by long ripe flavours, supple tannins, balance and elegance.
