There's no shortage of the signature Sauvignon Blanc / Semillon dry white blend wines currently being made in Western Australia, however this offering from Harewood Estate really impressed when we recently tasted it. 

Made by former Howard Park winemaker, James Kellie; this is a typically aromatic and vibrant blend from WA's Great Southern region. The use of only 'free-run' juice helps deliver a seamless purity on the palate, with impressive mouth-watering citrus fruits balanced by tropical passionfruit and pineapple notes.

The palate finishes dry and long with a subtle creaminess - making this a standout, high -quality dry white that offers excellent value-for-money drinking at this discounted price.

Established in 1988 in Denmark, Western Australia, Harewood Estate was bought by ex-Howard Park winemaker, James Kellie, and his family in 2003. Since then, the winery has moved forward in leaps and bounds. It has garnered many favourable reviews from renowned wine critics whilst collecting a swag of wine show medals and trophies.

James Kellie prides himself on delving into the true expression of the Great Southern’s sub-regions of Denmark, Porongurup, Frankland River and Mount Barker using grape varietals such as Riesling, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. As Harewood Estate says, “The art is on the inside” of every bottle.

The fruit is sourced from select, low yielding vineyards from each sub-region to produce cool climate wines James Halliday refers to as “Wines of exemplary quality and typicity.”

An intense, pungent nose displaying gooseberry and passionfruit with hints of tropical fruit and grassy citrus notes. The use of only free-run juice is reflected in the seamless purity of the palate. Mouth-watering citrus fruits are balanced by more tropical passionfruit and pineapple notes. Hints of flint and spice in the mid-palate lead to a lingering fine finish of grapefruit.
