Located in South Australia's Adelaide Hills region, Hahndorf Hill are on a journey to introduce into Australia the wonderful, food-friendly grape varieties of Austria.
The boutique vineyard is located at the edge of the historic, German-heritage village of Hahndorf.
Here they are growing and pioneering the Austrian grape varieties of Blaufrankisch, Gruner Veltliner, Zweigelt and St Laurent.
Hahndorf Hill also produce the cool-climate classics for which the Adelaide Hills wine region is renowned - Pinot Grigio, Shiraz and fresh, dry Rosé.
Tasting notes: Made unequivocally in the racy 'Grigio' style, this wine is loaded with lip-smacking green apple and crunchy nashi-pear, all wrapped together in a luscious, juicy acidity which is laced with a hint of musk. Vibrant and stimulating on the palate with an exciting mouth-feel that demands another sip. Enjoy with all white meats, pastas, all things vegetarian and your favourite seafood dishes. This Pinot Grigio will age well for 5 - 7 years.
