Dominique Portet’s French lineage dates back to 1720 and the family’s sale of eaux de vie to the Martell family. Several generations later his father André Portet became régisseur (vineyard and winery manager) of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild in Pauillac.
Wine: The current release is a blend of the three classic Champagne grapes, Pinot Noir (50%), Chardonnay (30%) and Pinot Meunier (20%). The grapes were handpicked, gently pressed and fermented before going through secondary fermentation in bottle. The wine was then aged for two years in our cool, temperature-controlled cellars, then disgorged and given a light dosage prior to release.
Glass: Dominique Portet Brut Rosé NV is an elegant, savoury salmon-pink sparkling wine with a fine streaming bead and aromas of fresh strawberries and rose petals. These are mirrored on the creamy palate and evolve into a fresh, dry and lingering finish. It is ready to drink now as the perfect sparkling rosé to celebrate any occasion.
