Dalfarras Pinot Grigio

Dalfarras Pinot Grigio 2017

Central Victoria, Victoria   |    750ml   |    13%
The Dalfarras range of wines are made by the well-known and historically significant Tahbilk winery in Central Victoria's Nagambie Lakes. The Dalfarras Pinot Grigio has quickly established itself as one of the best value examples of this popular variety, with previous vintages strong performers on the wine show circuit.

The 2017 Dalfarras Pinot Grigio delivers plenty of vibrant stone fruit, pear, lemon zest flavours with some appealing savoury and spice undertones. Another exceptional value example of Pinot Grigio from Dalfarras.

"Has the faintest onion skin blush of colour in the glass. Plenty of expressive aromas with stonefruits, brown pear slices and light honey. There’s also nutty and creamy characters suggesting some time on lees. A rich but crisp palate that sits neatly into the “grigio” groove. Along with ripe peach and pear fruit, the complexity of lees ageing and possibly some barrel maturation brings a textured and smoky nuance. The flavour finish is medium in length with refreshing acidity. A well put together wine showing that sometimes the hand of the winemaker is the right influence. RRP: $19.50 Alc: 13% Rating: 16.75/20" - Regan Drew, vinonotebook.com.

This wine was crafted from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes, sourced from our vineyards in the Murray Darling and the Goulburn Valley. Grapes were picked and crushed during the cool of night to retain their fresh, varietal flavours. The juice was then divided into select parcels. Each parcel underwent a different treatment such as malolactic fermentation; fermentation and time with French oak; or spending an extended period on yeast lees. Each treatment resulted in an individually flavoured parcel of wine, and the unique character and personality of the final blend is a result of the special handling of these separate parcels.
