Glinting quartz-green; an intriguing mix of flowers/ blossom, talc and spice on the bouquet is followed by a finely wrought palate of the highest quality, citrus fruit and tingling acidity sopranos singing to each other in unison. Balance is the key now and in the future. Drink by: 2032 Date tasted: 11 Sep 2017 Price: $25.00 Alcohol: 11.8%" - James Halliday, Top 100 Wines 2017.

Named after a prominent nearby landmark, Castle Rock Estate is nestled on the eastern slopes of the Porongurup mountains. Angelo and Wendy Diletti first planted vineyards in 1983, releasing the first vintage riesling in 1986.

The vineyard is situated 40km north east of Albany and 30km south east of Mount Barker, on a cool and elevated northerly aspect. This results in well ripened cool climate varieties producing intensely flavoured wines.
Western Australia
Great Southern
Colour: A light and pale colour with green hues.

Bouquet: Intense lime juice backed by a delicate fragrance of orange blossom and lavender giving a bouquet that is zesty and fresh, yet also of great depth.

Palate: The feature of the palate is the tightly wound structure that is enveloped by beautiful rich lime juice fruit characters. This fruit richness provides the generosity and succulence that is so appealing as a young wine. The core of natural acidity creates that great structure, finesse and length for the wine. The balance between the fruit generosity and tight acid structure is the hallmark of Castle Rock Rieslings. Lively, crisp and with an attractive delicacy now, this wine will blossom with age for at least fifteen years.

Food accompaniment: Ideal aperitif wine, will also accompany fish, delicate crustacean and mild Asian dishes.

Cellaring potential: Excellent ageing potential. It will continue to improve through its first year and then plateau, should drink well for at least 15 years.
