"95 Points. A 10+-year track record with this wine leaves no doubt about its longevity, and the way it will burst into song with 5+ years bottle age, and continue that song for another 5 years thereafter. Pale straw-green; length and balance are the cornerstones of this beautiful wine. Drink By: 2030 Price: $25.00 Date Tasted: 09 Sep 2016 Alcohol: 11.5%" - James Halliday,

"94 Points. The lemony aromatics of Porongorup and intense in this wine, cut through with fresh herb and lime-leaf nuances. The finish is crisp and dry with mouth-puckering freshness and penetrating intensity, the finish lingering on. It demands food and/or cellar time"- Huon Hooke, Gourmet Traveller Wine, Dec/ Jan 2017.

"The 30th vintage of this wine. It’s made from vines ranging from 17 to 33 years of age. It’s a dry, serious style. No playing to the crowd here. Rocks, stones, citrus blossoms and lime. A pebbly riesling but with enough florals to give a nod to prettiness. Extended, slatey finish. Very good. Rated: 92 Points Tasted: Sep16 Alcohol: 11.5% Price: $25 Closure: Screwcap Drink: 2016 - 2025+" - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

Named after a prominent nearby landmark, Castle Rock Estate is nestled on the eastern slopes of the Porongurup mountains. Angelo and Wendy Diletti first planted vineyards in 1983, releasing the first vintage riesling in 1986.

The vineyard is situated 40km north east of Albany and 30km south east of Mount Barker, on a cool and elevated northerly aspect. This results in well ripened cool climate varieties producing intensely flavoured wines.

Colour: A light and pale colour with green hues.

Bouquet: Intense lime juice backed by a delicate fragrance of orange blossom and lavender giving a bouquet that is zesty and fresh, yet also of great depth.

Palate: The feature of the palate is the tightly wound structure that is enveloped by beautiful rich lime juice fruit characters. This fruit richness provides the generosity and succulence that is so appealing as a young wine. The core of natural acidity creates that great structure, finesse and length for the wine. The balance between the fruit generosity and tight acid structure is the hallmark of Castle Rock Rieslings. Lively, crisp and with an attractive delicacy now, this wine will blossom with age for at least fifteen years.

Cellaring potential: Excellent ageing potential. It will continue to improve through its first year and then plateau, should drink well for at least 15 years.
