Bleasdale is one of Australia's most historic wineries, which in 2015 celebrated an incredible 165 years of continuous winemaking by the direct descendants of the founding Potts family. A star of the Langhorne Creek wine region, the impressive range of wines are overseen by the super talented Paul Hotker; 'Winemaker Of The Year' in the 2018 Halliday Wine Companion.

While Malbec is rarely seen as a straight varietal in Australia, Bleasdale have been championing it for some time with impressive results. This 2016 Bleasdale Second Innings Malbec delivers vibrant flavours of red berries, plum and some attractive pepper spice. Finishing soft and round with velvety tannins, this is a versatile red that offers super value drinking at this price.

"Varietal malbec. Langhorne Creek. Reasonable asking price. Good track record. Good start. No complaints here. It offers a power of fruit without being excessive and avoids simplicity without over-complicating things. It tastes of blackberry and saltbush, iodine and sweet, roasted spices; keeps oak well and truly in check; adds a whisper of raspberry; and runs juicily out through the finish. Nicely done. Balance is spot on. Rated: 91 Points Tasted: Nov17 Alcohol: 14% Price: $20 Closure: Screwcap Drink: 2017 - 2024+" - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

Established in 1850 by Frank Potts, Bleasdale is one of Australia's most historically significant wineries, which in 2015 celebrated an incredible 165 years of continuous winemaking by the direct descendants of the founding Potts family.

One of the stars of the Langhorne Creek wine region, the impressive range of wines are made by Paul Hotker; who was the recent recipient of 'Winemaker Of The Year' in Halliday Wine Companion 2018.

The philosophy of the Bleasdale winemaking team is to capture the essence of what makes Langhorne Creek red wines so attractive - vibrancy, harmony and texture. Cabernet Sauvignon has elegance and captivating depth of flavour, Shiraz is a ripe fruit style with refined cool climate spice elements and Malbec is perfumed and finely structured.
