"Western Australia's Great Southern is one of Australia's best sources of riesling - it's cool and inland with a continental climate which suits this grape. The remarkable thing is how wineries like Alkoomi field such fine riesling at such a low price. This is their entry-level bottling, but make no mistake, it's a high-quality wine. Tight, lively and energy-filled, its smells of stone-fruits including nectarine, and while the acidity is crisp and lively the palate in not too dry but fruity, balanced and charmingly accessible. Drink now to six-plus years" - Huon Hooke, Gourmet Traveller Wine, Dec/ Jan 2019.

The estate grown fruit was harvested in the early hours of the morning, preserving the delicate varietal flavours that define this cool climate aromatic wine. All fermentation was carried out in stainless steel, at cool temperatures to preserve the freshness and vibrancy of the fruit.

Vintage: Excellent growing conditions during spring led to healthy canopies and set the vineyard up beautifully for the rest of the season. A mild, yet very dry ripening season resulted in pristine fruit quality with an abundance of flavour intensity.

Colour: Brilliant pale gold with green flecks.

Palate: Intense flavours of grapefruit and musk with a sherbety acidity giving freshness and length to the palate.

Cellaring: Whilst ready to drink now, this wine will gain in complexity over the next five to eight years.
