Xanadu Next Of Kin Cabernet Sauvignon

Xanadu Next Of Kin Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Margaret River, Western Australia   |    750ml   |    14%
John and Eithne Lagan arrived at Margaret River in 1968, first planting their vineyard in 1977. The Lagans planted the first vines in what is now one of the region’s oldest vineyards. Xanadu has a long history of producing wines of distinction and today stands as one of Margaret River's finest wineries.

This 2010 Xanadu 'Next Of Kin' Cabernet Sauvignon is another impressive offering under this label, displaying plenty of varietal blackcurrant and plum flavours supported by nice structure and smooth tannin.

"This has some lovely style about it, dark cherry and cassis fruits, nice and upbeat, hints of dark herbs too. The palate has beautiful purity, effortless balance, cassis; sweet cabernet herbs and a lick of toasty oak all add up to real value and drinking pleasure. Drink: Now. 91 Points."- Nick Stock, The Good Wine Guide 2013 Edition.

"The wine exhibits vibrant, characteristic aromas of ripe blackcurrants, berry fruits, and dark plums entwined with hints of spicy, toasty oak. The generous palate is packed full of juicy fruits of the forest, cassis and chocolate characters. Full bodied, the attractive fleshy fruits fit into a structure supported by supple tannins, a solid acid backbone and a persistent berry fruit finish. Classic Margaret River Cabernet; whilst drinking well in its youth, the 2010 Next of Kin Cabernet Sauvignon will gain further complexity with bottle maturation, and will certainly reward with medium term cellaring over next 3-5 years."- Xanadu Estate.
