Hay Shed Hill Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2010 $18.90
New vintage from Hay Shed Hill. "Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes from the Hay Shed Hill vineyard were used in making this wine. Only free run juice was used, this component of the juice is the highest in quality with the most intense fruit expression and the lowest in undesirable phe-nolic skin characters. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at low temperature without the use of oak preserved and highlighted the finer fruit characters of these aromatic varieties. .....The wine displays fresh green tinges to a very pale straw colour. Typical cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon aromas of lively tropical fruits and fresh herbaceous grassy characters make up an intense bouquet. The palate is fresh and lively with classic Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon characters and a fine structure that are an indication both of the quality of the vintage and of the use of only free-run juice." - Notes from Hay Shed Hill.

Hay Shed Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 $22.90
This wine was recently awarded a Gold Medal at the 2010 International Wine Challenge. The Judges said "Opaque core. Ripe, sweet fruit aromas. Damson/black fruit with slightly jammy hints. Very firm tannins mashing fruit on the palate. Youthful. Underlying compact fruit needs time to show, line of acidity adds freshness." "93 Points. It's a juicier, less tannic wine than the excellent 2007 release, though the quality is still very high. You would never mistake it for anything other than cabernet either. It tastes dusty and leafy and gravelly - and of crushed gumleaves - with pure, silken, blackcurrant-like flavour oozing from go to whao. Balance and length too. Very fine wine. Drink 2011 - 2017" - Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh, The Big Red Wine Book 2010/2011. "Nose is pure essence of Margaret River. Lots of black currant with a touch of black olive. Has a minty overlay and tight fine tannins and lovely subtle fine grained oak. Classy expression this more towards medium body. Sensational value. Score: 92/100 Cellar: 7 years" - Ray Jordan, rayjordanwineandfood.com.

Hay Shed Hill Chardonnay 2009 $24.90
New vintage from Hay Shed Hill. "Another contemporary chardonnay made in a less-potent style, this Margaret River wine has a touch of tropical fruit on the nose, as well as nectarine and melon aromas. Oak influence is appropriately subtle, the palate finely structured with penetrating flavour and a fresh bite at the end. Needs a year of two in the bottle to develop. (Screw cap, 12 per cent alc) - Ralph Kyte-Powell, Epicure, The Sunday Age, Autumn 2010. "93 Points. It needs at least another six months in the bottle, but this latest release chardonnay from Margaret River winery Hay Shed Hill is a steal at $25. Margaret River chardonnay has a richness - no matter how early you pick it. Or so it sometimes seems. This has peachy, grapefruity grunt and yet through the finish it’s lean and lemony. Lovely sense of finesse throughout. Juicy. Lots of length. Love it. Alcohol: 12% Price: $25 Closure: Screwcap Drink: 2011 - 2014" - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front. "The 2009 is a great example of restrained elegance from Margaret River. It has lovely intense flavours with citrus, peach and cashew dominating. The fleshy fruit flavours are packed around a long and tight acid backbone. Cellar: 2010-2017" - David Cumming, Central Western Daily, Cellar Press.
