McLaren Vale, South Australia

McLaren Vale
Just half an hours drive South of Adelaide, McLaren Vale is one of Australia's oldest winemaking regions. Over 50 wineries are located throughout the McLaren Vale region, including the likes of d’Arenberg, Wirra Wirra, Kay Brothers Armery, Paxton, Geoff Merrill, Olivers Taranga, S.C Pannell and Ulithorne.
Just minutes away from the stunning coast line, the flats of the McLaren Vale has a Mediterranean- style climate; with warm sunny days and fresh sea breezes from the nearby Gulf of St Vincent to temper high summer heats. The nearby beaches also provide punters welcome relief after a long day of cellar door hopping.
Shiraz undoubtedly the flagship variety of the region, with powerful, flavoursome renditions leading the charge, however also expect to taste some very good examples of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
