"95 Points. A classical, stable, long-term Great Western shiraz whose dusty, peppery expression of dark berries, cassis and plum-like fruit is tightly knit with cedar/chocolate/vanilla oak and framed by fine-grained, elegant and silky-smooth tannins. It's quite sneezy, with a dusty violet-like perfumed that reveals undertones of ironstone, mint and minerals. It's penetrative and sweet-fruited, supple and focused, and culminates in a lingering, spicy, peppery and savoury mineral finish.(18.7/95, YTD 2018-2026)" - Jeremy Oliver - 23/05/2009.
“An elegant, slightly understated wine which always drinks and ages better than you expect from blind tastings. Peppermint, raspberry and subtle spiciness: a trace of smoky gunflint aromas. It’s lively, lean-ish and medium bodied, with excellent intensity and length.” - Bob Campbell MW & Huon Hooke, Top 100 New Releases Gourmet Traveller Wine Feb/Mar 2009.
"95 Points. A floral aspect, like jasmine or apricot jam, makes a positive contribution to the fragrance of this wine. It’s regionally spiced with good coffee/vanilla oak and rich juicy blackberry fruit. Medium to full bodied, squeaky clean, full of firm grainy tannins that run dry onto the long finish. There’s a meaty savoury flavour too, along with liquorice as it opens up. Terrific wine.
