The Avatar is a classic example of the quintessentially Barossa blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro which has been a long-time favourite of many Australian red wine drinkers. The newly released 2006 vintage is loaded with flavours of raspberries, plums and blackberries, with the fruit in perfect balance with the restrained oak. Whilst not cheap, this wine drinks well above its asking point and clearly demonstrates why Teusner is considered a producer on the rise.
