Last stocks available, 2008 vintage coming soon. "95 Points. In typical powerful and focused mode, the vineyard speaking as loudly as the maker; flavours of nectarine, white peach and grapefruit are all to be found, French oak acting as a projector of those flavours onto the palate screen. Diam. 13% alc. Rating 95 Drink 2015 $27 Date Tasted Feb 09" - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2010 Edition. "Soft and unctuous, this smooth, round and generous young chardonnay has a smoky, rather funky bouquet whose melon and grapefruit aromas are backed by nuances of grilled nuts and bacon. Its long, intensely flavoured palate of melon, grapefruit and mango finishes tight and focused, savoury and mineral. Very regional, and likely to flesh out very well. (17.5/91, YTD 2009-2012)" - Jeremy Oliver, jerermyoliver.com.au. "Port Phillip Estate is located at Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula. The maritime climate and southerly latitude combined with the estate’s deep red loam soils are ideal for cool climate viticulture. The vineyard is set in a sheltered natural amphitheatre with north and north-east facing slopes providing excellent drainage and exposure to sunlight. The 2007 vintage was one of the earliest on record. Chardonnay grapes were picked in mid March 2007 after reaching optimum ripeness" - Notes from Port Phillip Estate.
