Pondalowie Vineyard Blend 2012

Bendigo, Victoria   |    750ml   |    14%
Pondalowie Vineyards is dedicated to producing handcrafted premium red wines. Drawing on their winemaking experiences from Australia and overseas, the team at Pondalowie produce wines the exude the characters of the grape variety and the Bendigo region of Central Victoria. Organically farmed grapes and hand-plunged, basket-pressed and barrel matured.

The make-up of Pondalowie's 'Vineyard Blend' varies from vintage-to-vintage with the newly released 2012 vintage a mix of Shiraz, Cabernet and Tempranillo. This richly flavoured, medium bodied wine offers flavours of jubey black fruits, wild berries, dried cranberry and fruitcake spice. Subtle oak and ripe fruit tannin round off this delicious wine that would be a treat with barbequed meat dished or tomato baded pasta dishes.

A spin on the traditional Australian blend of Shiraz and Cabernet, this wine is created at harvest when varieties are chosen and co-fermented. The blend is different, harvet to harvest, though the combination is always fascinating and very drinkable! Typically lifted aromas of dark cherries and raspberries, cinnamon, nutmeg and subtle toasty oak intensify on the soft, rounded palate that is in great balance with its lingering finish. Enjoy this wine with a gourmet pizza or anti-pasto of chorizio, olives, parma ham and shavings of parmasan. Intended for drinking now or cellar for up to 5 years.
