Paxton is a family owned and operated winery located in South Australia's McLaren Vale winery. The vineyards are managed using biodynamic farming principles; without the use of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides and a focus on promoting healthy, living soils through natural compost preparations.

Made from 100% Shiraz grown specifically for Rosé, this newly released 2013 vintage is a top-class example of Australian Rosé.

"95 Points. Made from grapes specifically grown for this wine, and was given 24 hours' skin contact, then cool-fermented like a white wine - the secret weapon 5% fermented in new French oak. Bright fuschia-pink, it has red cherry/strawberry aromas, the palate building convincingly with seamless fruit in the same register, mouthfilling and pleasingly dry. Drink by: 2015 Alc: 12%"- James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion Website.

2013 harvest was characterised by small crops of early ripening, full flavoured fruit. One of our earliest harvests in recent times was fantastic due to great natural balance and ripeness at relatively low sugar levels, resulting in moderate alcohols.

Vinification: Made from 100% Shiraz grown specifically for this Rosé, fruit was crushed to a press, where it stayed in contact with the skins for 24 hours. After pressing, the wine was settled and fermented like a white wine, at cool temperatures. Approx. 5% was fermented in new French oak barrels. It was filtered and bottled early in its life to capture the freshness of Shiraz Rosé.- Paxton Wines.
