Elderton Lunch at Grossi Florentino

Friday 11th July - 12.30 pm.

Auscellardoor and Elderton Wines cordially invite you to a special wine lunch at Grossi Florentino. This three course meal will showcase the superb wines of Elderton alongside the extraordinary cuisine of Grossi Florentino. This is an event not to be missed.

Elderton Wines of Barossa Valley has an enviable reputation as one of the regions finest producers, handcrafting wines that display an abundance of varietal definition and regional character. Their wines continue to gain huge recognition both home and abroad, including an extraordinary 98 point review from The Wine Advocate for their flagship 2004 Command Shiraz. Allister Ashmead of Elderton wines will be on hand to take you through a selection of Elderton's finest wines including the 2004 Command Shiraz. These wines will be matched by traditional cuisine from the kitchen of Grossi Florentino.

"98 Points. The 2004 Shiraz "Command" comes from a single block of 104-year-old vines. It was aged in 100% new oak puncheons (400 liter barrels). Opaque purple-colored, this Shiraz has fabulous aromatics of smoke, melted tar, licorice, espresso, game, and blueberry compote. Layered but tight, this full-bodied wine is thick, rich, and totally hedonistic. The finish lasts for 60 seconds. However, be warned. This monumental Shiraz needs 10-15 years to fully unfold. It will provide pleasure through 2035". Jay Miller, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate.

Grossi Florentino is a Melbourne dining institution headed by Guy Grossi, one of the countries most respected chefs. Grossing Florentino seamlessly combines traditional Italian hospitality and flair with the modern to produce a dining experience that is second to none.
