Yering Station Mr Frog Pinot Noir 2012

Mr Frog Pinot Noir

Yering Station Mr Frog Pinot Noir 2012

Yarra Valley, Victoria   |    750ml   |    14%
The Yarra Valley's Yering Station is one of Victoria's finest wineries with a reputation for producing outstanding quality wines at a range of price points. The wines under the Mr Frog range offer impressive quality at a very reasonable price, with the newly released 2012 Mr Frog Pinot Noir particularly impressing at a recent tasting of the range.

The 2012 Mr Frog Pinot Noir is made from 100% Yarra Valley grapes, which have been fermented in open fermenters with regular plunging. Ruby red, on the nose this wine offers ripe raspberry, blackberry and cherry characters with hints of savoury oak and spicy undertones. A typical Pinot Noir silky palate with lovely, ripe fruit characters and fine tannins delivers a style that is best enjoyed over the next couple of years.

Early historical records from the Yarra Valley indicate that the famous Frog family moved into the original Yering Station winery building back in 1859. The property's first 'Mr Frog' knew the cool, fresh environment, smell of grape skins and the constant access to some of Victoria's finest wines, made this the best address a 19th century amphibian could have. Today, legend has it that the fifth generation of the venerated Frog family still lives within the cooler crevices of the historical building, now home to cellar door.
