Longview Yakka Shiraz 2010

Adelaide Hills, South Australia   |    750ml   |    14.5%
Longview's Yakka Shiraz is sourced entirely from Longview Vineyard at Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. This wine has continued to impress over recent vintages, always delivering a flavoursome, vibrant and beautifully balanced example of Adelaide Hills Shiraz. The newly released 2010 Longview Yakka Shiraz is another beauty from the team at Longview.

"If we had a Wine of the Week section at The Wine Front, I’d be putting this shiraz from Longview up as a nomination. Price, flavour, finesse; all are running in this wine’s favour. It’s juicy and up-front delicious but fine and filligreed through the finish. Flavours of plum, soy, toasty vanilla, (gentle) dried spice and violets. It’s a pretty wine. Medium in weight. Expressive on the nose and lively in the mouth. But it’s more than just a pretty face; it has length, and class. Rated: 93+ Points Alcohol: 14.5% Price: $27 Closure: Screwcap Drink: 2016 - 2022+"- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

"Yakka Shiraz is sourced entirely from Longview Vineyard at Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. The fruit was hand-picked to minimise damage, and then fermented on skins for 7 days. After malolactic fermentation the wine was aged in old and new French Barriques. Our 2009 Yakka Shiraz is dark brick red in colour with aromas of red berries, white pepper and baking spices exhibiting flavours of blackcurrant and dark cherry. Toasty oak characters are integrated perfectly with fine balanced tannins and the finish is spicy and long. Excellent to drink now and will benefit from 8-10 years of cellaring." - Longview Wines.
