Reviews of the 2010 vintage included below;

"I'm a huge admirer of the efforts the Saturno brothers have put into their Adelaide Hills vineyards to produce top quality fruit. This a delightful cool-climate shiraz from a very good vintage. Dark and inky, it boasts black fruit and white pepper on the nose, leading on to a melange of berry flavours, black chocolate and coffee notes with rich but well-integrated toasty oak and impressive tannin architecture. The 18 months this wine spent in new and old French barriques has added complexity and interest and this will almost certainly cellar well for a decade or more while drinking very well right now. Supple and astutely restrained - a great match for a veal roast. $28."- Winsor Dobbin, www.winsordobbin.com.au.

"If we had a Wine of the Week section at The Wine Front, I’d be putting this shiraz from Longview up as a nomination. Price, flavour, finesse; all are running in this wine’s favour. It’s juicy and up-front delicious but fine and filligreed through the finish. Flavours of plum, soy, toasty vanilla, (gentle) dried spice and violets. It’s a pretty wine. Medium in weight. Expressive on the nose and lively in the mouth. But it’s more than just a pretty face; it has length, and class. Rated: 93+ Points Alcohol: 14.5% Price: $27 Closure: Screwcap Drink: 2016 - 2022+"- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

"92/100. A complex, medium-bodied Adelaide Hills shiraz of good quality. Sweet berry and plum fruit lead the way, seasoned with suggestions of mint, vanillin oak and an earthy, vaguely countrified overtone. It's full-flavoured, ripe and smooth with a dry finish and lingering flavour. (Screw cap; 14.4 per cent alcohol.)" - Ralph Kyte-Powell, Epicure, The Age, June 26, 2013.

"Yakka Shiraz is sourced entirely from Longview Vineyard at Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. The fruit was hand-picked to minimise damage, and then fermented on skins for 7 days. After malolactic fermentation the wine was aged in old and new French Barriques. Our 2009 Yakka Shiraz is dark brick red in colour with aromas of red berries, white pepper and baking spices exhibiting flavours of blackcurrant and dark cherry. Toasty oak characters are integrated perfectly with fine balanced tannins and the finish is spicy and long. Excellent to drink now and will benefit from 8-10 years of cellaring." - Longview Wines.
