Lenton Brae Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2013
The 2013 vintage was warm and dry providing perfect conditions for the early-ripening varieties of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
As with previous releases, the majority was fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and vitality and at cool temperatures facilitating a gradual conversion of sugar into alcohol by selected yeasts. 8% was barrel fermented in new French oak. This years blend is 55% Semillon 45% Sauvignon Blanc.
The Sauvignon Blanc contributes aromatic elements with the Semillon providing the weight and depth of flavour on the palate.
We encourage consumption within the first 2 years of vintage, though under appropriate cellaring conditions, the wine will soften and develop the honeyed, toasty characters of bottle age. Bottled in June, 2013.
Since 1996, the Lenton Brae Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon has been awarded 7 trophies and 11 gold medals at regional, state and national competitions.
