Coombe Farm, Yarra Valley

COOMBE FARM
The Coombe Farm estate is approximately 220 hectares in area and located at the gateway to the Yarra Valley in Coldstream, commencing at the fork of the Melba and Maroondah Highways at Coombe Cottage, extending down to St Huberts Road.
In 1998, 60 hectares of vines were established on both sides of the Maroondah Highway, with the vision ‘to be the best and most preferred supplier of premium Yarra Valley wine-grapes and widely recognised as an industry leader in Best Practice viticulture, varietal selection and innovation.’
Varieties planted included the traditional Yarra Valley varieties and clones of Chardonnay (Mendoza or ‘Gin-Gin’, P58, 76, 96 and 277), Pinot Noir (MV6, 777, 114 and 115), Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as well as the more unusual Pinot Gris, Arneis, Viognier and Marsanne.
Coombe Farm now consistently supplies premium and ultra-premium wine grapes to many of Australia’s leading and most innovative wine producers, while selecting the best for their own range of wines.
