Willow Creek Pinot Noir 2010

Mornington Peninsula, Victoria   |    750ml   |    13.5%
New vintage of Willow Creek Pinot Noir. Geraldine McFaul is widely rated one of Australia's finest pinot makers, and its not hard to see why. This is a simply stunning Pinot Noir that would put many of its peers to shame. Aromatic, balanced, elegant, it offers plenty of typical Pinot flavours; cherry, plum, earthiness and spice are all present. Beautifully poised and silky, this is a delight to drink.

Reviews of the 2009 vintage below:

"94 Points. Bright crimson-red plum and black cherry fruit fill the bouquet and palate, complexed by light foresty savoury notes; from a four-clone vineyard yielding 1 tonne per acre. Screwcap.13.5% alc. Drink 2016 $40. Date Tasted Aug 10"- James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au.

"Geraldine McFaul surely is one of the industry’s finest pinot exponents. She has taken the highly credentialed Willow Creek to even greater heights since joining the Mornington Peninsula outfit after an impressive stint at Stonier. This new vintage, formerly released under the Tulum label, is perfectly poised, elegant and seamless with aromatic cherry and plum fruit flavours, spice and earthy characters, cleverly oaked and silky smooth tannins. Drink with roast duck"- Kerry Skinner, Illawarra Mercury, November 8 2010.

"With more than 15 Mornington Peninsula vintages under her belt, winemaker Geraldine McFaul has crafted some of the region’s finest pinot noirs and this one is no exception. It displays aromas of black cherry and chocolate with earthy/beetroot complexity, while the palate has a silky texture and finegrained tannins to provide grip on the finish."- Willow Creek Wines.
