Mitolo Jester Rose 2011

McLaren Vale, South Australia   |    750ml   |    12.7%
Mitolo Jester Rose is distinctive, elegant and true to it’s variety, showing vibrant Sangiovese character, clean acidity and soft texture which leads into a long, dry and balanced finish. Sangiovese is wonderful with food and compliments an array of dishes.

"A cut above. Glossy pale to mid pink in the glass, a fragrant cherry to raspberry strap-like scent puts you in a rose mood. Spring is in the air, there's a zest in the glass, the fruit has bite and citrus-juice texture so it's supremely refreshing with a successful finish. As with all good rose's, it's a perky, joy to drink.Food: Seared tuna with tomato salsa."- Tony Love, taste.com.au, October 2011.

"92 Points. The darkest and most structured rosé in my Valentine’s special, there is a texture here derived from the rounded phenolics of sangiovese skins. It’s a refreshing and spicy style with lovely definition of strawberry, guava and watermelon fruit. Leave the aperitif, party-starting business to lighter rosés and keep the Jester on hand for spicy fusion pairing. Drink: 2012."- Tyson Stelzer, Wine Taste.

"The vineyards are in the Willunga district in the southern end of McLaren Vale. The heavy grey loam soils over sandstone, intermixed with black Biscay clay, combined with a maritime climate, contribute to an even ripening period and the development of rich fruit flavours and ripe tannins. Colour: Pale salmon pink. Nose: Hints of cherry and strawberry fruit on the nose. Palate: Crisp and dry on the palate, with flavours of spice and plum. Cellaring: Drink young and fresh. Food Match; Antipasti platter of sopressa, bresaola, capocollo, melanzane, Roman artichokes, pecorino and chilli Sicilian green olives" - Mitolo Wines.
