Sutton Grange Fairbank Rosé 2011

Sutton Grange Fairbank Rosé

Sutton Grange Fairbank Rosé 2011

Geelong, Victoria   |    750ml   |    12.5%
In recent years Sutton Grange's Fairbank Rosé has established itself as one of our favourite Rosé's. Winemaker Gilles Lapalus consistently hits the balance between vibrant fruit flavours and complex savouriness.

"Soft textural approach, the wine has enough volume to balance the intense fresh aromatics, with more red fruit (strawberry), but also some more spicy notes (vanilla, spicy wood). The round attack leaves place to a rich and long impression, very textural (velvety), and finishes with refreshing acidity" - Sutton Grange Wines.

Sutton Grange Winery is located on the southern edge of the Bendigo region, and for many years was known for its thoroughbred racing facility but since planting of the vineyards in 1998 it is now recognised for the wines it produces. The Sutton Grange vineyard is cultivated with organic and biodynamic methods, and the wines are traditionally handcrafted by winemaker Gilles Lapalus. The wines combine Gilles distinctive style and interpretation with our organically grown estate fruit. The release of Sutton Grange Winery wines in 2003 were originally the title of Fairbank. With the maturity of the vines a premium label named Sutton Grange Estate has been released which exemplify our determination to produce great wines.

'Very pale pink gold with light pink hue. Very good limpidity and good brilliance. Very good intensity, fruit is the first impression, with some red fruits (strawberry, wild strawberry), followed by some fermentation character (yeasty), more fruit (peach) and a fresh vegetal note (kaffir lime leaves). Soft textural approach, the wine has enough volume to balance the intense fresh aromatics, with more red fruit (strawberry), but also some more spicy notes (vanilla, spicy wood). The round attack leaves place to a rich and long impression, very textural (velvety), and finishes with refreshing acidity. 2010 is great year for rosé, with great fruit picked before the rain, but also benefiting from more saignee than usual, this wine remains in the pale, dry category with an extra fruity dimension. Fermentations were again slow but purer than precedent vintages, ending with lower alcohol level allowing to control more precisely the maturation on lees. This wine is the perfect aperitif for summer, and is also ideally placed on the table, all year round.' - Sutton Grange Wines.
