Quealy Balnarring Chardonnay

Quealy Balnarring Chardonnay 2010

Mornington Peninsula, Victoria   |    750ml   |    13%
Winemaker Kathleen Quealy is one of Australia's leading female winemakers, having established the T'Gallant winery back in 1990. After selling T'Gallant to Fosters, Kathleen purchased the Balnarring vineyard and winery in 2004 that is now home to her own 'Quealy' label. The wines under the 'Balnarring' label offer an approachable, modern style clearly demonstrated in this sensational value Chardonnay.

"94 Points. Light straw-green; Kathleen Quealy has got the art of making unoaked chardonnay so well under control you simply don't notice its absence; the wine has grapefruit, nectarine and white peach in abundance, but it's the texture and aftertaste that make it special. Drink: 2015 Price: $20 Date Tasted: 30 Jan 2011 Alcohol: 13%" - James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au.

"Yellow gold in colour and aromas of baked apple, white peach, citrus and cashew. The palate is full and soft with creamy characters and finishes clean. Seventy per cent of the fruit for this wine comes from Musk Creek Vineyard (about 20km South-west of Balnarring) and 30% from Balnarring Vineyard. It was picked early (at around 11.5° baume) to preserve acidity and freshness"- Quealy Vineyards.
