The 2012 Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show results were announced at the wine awards dinner on the evening of Thursday 16th February.
More than 2240 wines were submitted to this year’s show, representing almost all of Australia’s wine regions.

This years judging panel was led by chairman Ian Riggs, who has held the position since 2009.

There were plenty of familiar names in this year’s awards list, with Mount Langi Ghiran's 2010 Cliff Edge Shiraz taking out the title of Best Wine Of Show.

Best Sparkling White Wine of the Show.

2004 ARRAS BRUT ELITE CUVÉE 

 

Best Commercial White Wine entered in Classes 1 to 6.

2011 DEVIL'S LAIR MARGARET RIVER HIDDEN CAVE CHARDONNAY 

 

Best Premium Previous Vintage White Wine entered in Classes 41 to 45.

2011 LEASINGHAM BIN 7 RIESLING 

 

Best Aged Vintage White Wine entered in Classes 66 to 69.

2006 AUDREY WILKINSON MUSEUM RESERVE SEMILLON

 

Best Commercial Dry Red Wine entered in Classes 9 to 14.

2010 AMBERLEY SECRET LANE CABERNET MERLOT v. 2010

 

Best Premium Dry Red Wine, two years and older.

2010 BESTS GREAT WESTERN SHIRAZ BIN 0

 

Best Varietal Wine, Pinot Noir entered in Class 29.

2010 COLDSTREAM HILLS PINOT NOIR
